The FIRST of the 13 colleges when Arab Academy started back in 1972 & now celebrating 50 years of experience & excellence. The college awards specialized certificates in the field of Maritime Transport. Throughout its glorious history, this College has been a pioneering in the field of maritime education and training, which culminated in obtaining Quality Certificate ISO 9001 in September 1994, and gaining the European Union (EU) recognition and the Certificates of Competency (COC) accredited by the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety.

The college is equipped with a unique simulator complex that grants students efficient and safe training on maneuvering in different climatic conditions.

Admission Requirements

From the science section or math section.

a) The certificate from KSA
– The certificate must be a scientific section (semester or credit system )+شهادة القدرات
– Exclude the unqualifying subjects:
Ex: the Islamic Subjects, Physical Education, The behavior, the attendance, The Military Education, and the National Education.
b) Other Arabic certificates
– Exclude the unqualifying subjects:
Ex: the Islamic Subjects, Physical Education, The behavior, the attendance, The Military Education, and the National Education.

  • Students must achieve 12or 11 years of schooling.
  • Accepted scores must be taken during not more than 4 successive years after grade 9.
  • The subjects must be “extended”, not “core” curriculum.
  • The students must take 8 o levels of subjects +1 as or al (math or biology)
  • The 8 subjects must include the following qualifying 5 subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English And any 3 other subject EX: Geography, Accounting ….. etc
  • The Minimum grade for o level is (c/4) and for as or al is D.
  • Students must achieve 12 years of schooling.
  • Students must pass 8 subjects (not repeated) with a minimum of one credit for each subject.
  • 40% is taken from the selected 8 subjects.
  • Maximum 2 subjects from grade 10
  • Maximum 4 subjects from grade 11
  • Minimum 4 subjects from grade 12 and maximum 8 subjects
  • Students must submit a minimum SAT 1 / ACT 1 / EST score with a minimum acceptable score of 800.
  • SAT 2/ ACT 2 / EST2 with a minimum score of 900. the 8 subjects must include the following 5 qualifying subjects:   Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics & English.
  • SAT2 /ACT2/EST2 one of the 2 subjects is Biology or math and the other is one of chemistry,physics.

The Basic Nautical Studies
The Basic Nautical Studies Department is assigned the responsibilities of nautical education, training and upgrading of students through the development of their knowledge, attitudes and skills in order to enable them to work in various fields of maritime transport either as deck officers in accordance with the latest trends in international standards of certification and qualification.
Maritime Transport Technology
Meeting the diversity and growth of Nautical and Maritime Transportation Industry. It educates trains and upgrades students through the development of their knowledge, attitudes and skills in order to enable them to work in various fields of Maritime Transport sector either as deck officers or in Maritime Management assignments in accordance with the latest trends in International Standards of Certification and Qualification.
Marine Engineering Technology
The Marine Engineering Technology Department started as AMTA back in 1972, offering a two-year program of basic studies for engineering cadets as well as some upgrading courses for marine engineers.
Due to the technological advances and developments in the Maritime Transport Industry and the subsequent need for enhancing the technical expertise of engineers working on-board ships, the program of study in the Department has been reviewed and updated to offer the following programs:
• Marine Engineering Technology program in conjunction with Third Marine Engineer COC.
• Marine Electrical Technology program in conjunction with Electro Technical Officer COC.
